For a 4th-year college student, being asked "What are your plans after graduation?" may possibly be one of the most terrifying moments of their entire college experience.

For my SMAD 342 course (Elements of Creative Advertising) my team and I were challenged to create a video advertisement. We had an advantage, we were apart of the audience. We knew that planning life after graduation was scary and when we compiled research and saw supporting statistic, we harnessed that fear and ran with it.
Our research was diverse. We pulled statistics from scholary articles and insights from in-person interviews with seniors at our school. Using our research findings, audience analysis, objectives, and goals, we brainstormed. Ok so seniors at our school are stressed and anxious about life after graduation, our university has a career center that helps students plan for life after graduation. Boom, our big idea was born: Planning life after graduation at the University Career Center will not be scary. Being that it was Halloween season, we honed in a horror theme and exaggerated it. Inspired by classic horror movie tropes, like dolly shots, and extreme close up slow mo's we created our sketches and then moved into production.
